Evidence and accountability

Editorial & Review Policy

AgeKind separates owner observations, practical synthesis, product specifications, veterinary guidance, and research evidence so readers can see what supports each conclusion.

Content ownership comes first

Each page has one primary task. Owner-problem pages handle observation, urgency, immediate home changes, and routing. Care Library articles own complete explanations. Collections compare product categories, and product pages own model-specific fit and use facts.

Sources are matched to the claim

AgeKind prioritizes current professional guidelines, consensus statements, government guidance, peer-reviewed research, veterinary schools, and specialty organizations. Manufacturer sources are used for their own specifications and instructions, not as independent proof of medical outcomes.

Research is translated with limits intact

Claims are recorded with their applicable population, context, evidence status, source, and limitation. AgeKind distinguishes established guidance, limited support, expert-practice guidance, uncertainty, and product specifications.

Medical boundaries stay visible

AgeKind provides educational home-support guidance, not diagnosis, medication advice, treatment, or emergency triage for an individual animal. Urgent sections direct caregivers to local veterinary services. Human medication must not be given without veterinary direction.

Professional review is never implied

A page is described as professionally reviewed only when a named qualified reviewer has approved the content within a stated scope. Pages without that review say so. High-risk handling, disease, rehabilitation, medication, and end-of-life content remains restricted until its review gate is met.

Commercial relationships do not change the evidence standard

Product placement follows the task and fit gates. Commercial links are separated from the main mechanism explanation, and a product is not presented as a treatment because it relates to a condition or symptom.

Corrections and updates

Material corrections should update the visible page, source and claim records, review date, and affected internal links. Dates are changed only when content has been substantively reviewed or revised.
